Boris Backs Airport Bid

Boris Johnson back a new Airport bid for a site based in the Isle of Grain in Kent, where he previously backed a man mad island project in the Thames instead.is planning to take Lord Foster's proposals for a new four-runway airport on the Isle of Grain in Kent to the Treasury.  The airport which could cost £40bn - £50bn to build will change the fortunes of the region for generations.

Boris Johnson said: "I am grateful to Lord Foster for spelling out the potential for a new airport, properly rooted in a broader vision for the Thames estuary, where it would make a vital contribution to economic growth.

"I believe this is vital not only so London remains in the premier league of aviation, but also to generate jobs and opportunities for decades."
